Everyday I live my life begrudgingly. I have an alright life. A friend who supports me but at times I wish I lived another’s life. Because of my heritage, I’m looked at differently. See I am the guardian for a world. Well actually it’s not a world but it is. The World That Never Was. My home. My life.
Bound by the life of a guardian I must protect it at all costs until my life ends. Luckily I have another fellow guardian but she is usually training because she was just born from the world. I would patrol the Twilight Town, the place I currently live, keeping a watchful eye. Monsters were known to attack, also known as Heartless. But my people…their hearts could never be taken. See when a person is turned into a heartless, anther part of them becomes a “Nobody”. Basically a Nobody has no emotions or heart. They will attack relentlessly to get more in their ranks. But once every so often when a powerful being has been turned into a heartless, a powerful nobody is born. Years ago we had a problem with powerful nobodies. We can retain human form. I’m not a Nobody. I was born with emotions and a heart and thus I’m looked down upon. People are confused as to why I have such emotions.
I thought to myself silently as I stopped outside my house. It was near where a keyblade wielder once lived before leaving. I wished that I could leave a semi-normal life. The burden of a guardian was so much. I smiled a sad smile, I couldn’t leave here. It wasn’t done.
I opened the door and walked into the living room. A large mirror stood in the corner with a small chest of drawers. I looked at my image in the mirror. My dark blue hair shone brightly as light hit it. A long piece of my hair was tied with black material and feel to my legs. My eyes, I loved looking at my eyes. Both were different colours. My left was green and my right was blue. The reason being was that I had a soul within my body. A powerful pyrokinetic known as Axel. Due to this my left eye turned green. They shone brightly. On my cheeks were my possessions, my crystal tears. They gave me the power to restore hearts to nobodies but at the risk of losing some of my life. I very very rarely use them. I also had two other jewels. A red crystal embedded unto my head. It was hidden by some of my hair. I also had one on my neck. In the middle of the black choker I wore. My outfit was a trend amongst the other teenagers here. A very small black top, exposing my stomach, with pink extensions on my arms. I wore a black and white striped arm warmer on my right hand and a red sweat band on the other. My trousers were long and baggy covering the black and white snickers I wore, held up by a bright blue sash tied around my waist.
I sighed again. I went up to my room and began to change into some pyjamas. I untied my hair and remove my crystals. Darkness began to fall on the room. I looked out the window and noticed a shooting star. I wished with all my might to live another’s life or to live in another world. I snuggled under my covers and let the darkness of sleep fall upon me.
Darkness, black darkness everywhere. I was confused. Where was I? I took a couple of steps forward, when I heard a voice.
“You wished for a different life, kiddo…”
That voice…could it be?
“Axel?”
A figure appeared in the darkness. His fiery red hair was spiked back and fell down his back. He had a warm face with black tattoos under his eyes. He wore a long black hooded jacket decorated with ornate decorations. This man’s soul lives within me but never before had I seen him in my sleep.
“Axel…I hate being looked down upon by my people. Just because I have emotions.” I said, my head hanging slightly.
He kneeled down to my level and lifted my head. He was like my father. He never used to have emotions but since I had became his vessel, he could finally feel emotions. I looked into his dark green eyes. Warmth. Something I hadn’t seen in a long time.
“Listen, I can make the wish true and whenever you wish to leave just say. Okay kid?” he said with a grin.
“Um how?”
“You see I am linked to Twilight Town now through you. I can ask the heart of the world to do this for you. Remember it created you?” He said thinking slightly.
“Yes I do, but I won’t be away for long?” I said, worried the town would be unprotected.
“Not even that long. You’ll be returned just as you left it. Asleep.”
I thought long and hard. It would be great to live a different life. She would be return just as she had fallen asleep. She turned to Axel.
“Sure! Please, please make it happen Axel. I wish to live a different life. On a different world if possible!” I said with a grin rivalling his own.
“So got it memorized? Just say when you want to return home okay?” he said disappearing into the darkness.
“Yep! See ya soon!” I said cheerfully as I waved him goodbye.
My mind faded as the next thing I knew I was being shaken awake. I opened my eyes wearily to see a boy about seventeen looking at me. His eyes were a bright blue sparkling with light! His blonde hair was spiked in various directions. He wore strange clothing, almost medieval. Most of it armour. He wore a black travel cloak and was looking at me curiously.
“Wh-Where am I?” I asked as I tried to sit up. I felt awfully sick.
“It’s dangerous here. You shouldn’t be here!” He said his warm voice making my heart melt.
“But where am I!?” I said.
“Mount Aleph! Didn’t you look at the sign!?” he exclaimed as he stood over me.
“Mount Aleph? Where’s that?” I asked simply.
“Vale, Weyard! Okay what’s going on here!?”
I stood up but almost regretted it. My legs began to wobble and I felt the urge to throw up. The boy seen it and came to my side, wrapping my arm around his shoulder.
“Thank you.” I said as he helped me down the path.
“You’re very welcome.” His mannerisms were so nice. I felt happy as he helped me. “You’re not from around these parts are you?”
“I’m sorry no. I don’t know where I am. The last thing I remember is…” Oh no my memory. I couldn’t remember anything! Who was I? A name rang out to me. I felt weird again. “Actually I can’t – I can’t remember anything.”
His eyes met mine again. Such happiness. “Hm, that’s very weird. Maybe our healers can help.” We were nearing a town. Presuming it was this Vale. “Do you remember your name?”
“Akira…” I said. It truly was the only thing I remembered. I felt very sick and I lowered my head. I was walking barefooted and wearing a bright white dress. I must’ve looked very peculiar to him. Suddenly my head started spinning. I stopped as it got worse. This boy looked at me. The next thing I knew I fell to the ground as everything went black.
The boy was shocked as this girl whose name he only knew fell to ground. She was breathing rather heavily and her head began to get warmer and warmer. He lifted her into his arms and carried her back to Vale.
“By the way my names Isaac…” He whispered into my ear.
